Strange creatures, elusive clues, and deceptive Latin—this course trains your ear to catch them all. Building on the auditory methods of a previous course (Festina Lente), sessions begin with an unknown excerpt recited aloud, without looking at the text. Your task: follow the Latin as it unfolds and guess which animal, object, creature, or phenomenon hides behind the description. No scripts, no retroactive parsing —just real-time comprehension. We then unpack the riddle together, focusing on lexical hints, word order cues, metaphors, and the strategy of reading Latin through sound. Over time, you’ll develop a sharper instinct for continuous spoken Latin, expand your descriptive vocabulary, and learn to decode imagery on the fly. A playful and immersive approach to Latin listening—full of marvels, monsters, and linguistic surprises.
