Description

Caeneus and Atalanta both have an exceptional relationship to virtus and muliebritas. Caeneus was transformed into a man after he was assaulted, and Atalanta as a warrior and Argonaut is a woman in a man's position. We will read the sections of the Metamorphoses that address Atalanta and Caeneus and discuss what their experience means for them inside of and outside of the expectations of "virtue."

Major US federal holidays are observed. If a participant misses a session due to their observance of a religious holiday, they can arrange a separate session with the instructor.

Classes require a minimum number of participants to run although they may run with fewer participants, at the instructor’s discretion.

More than a week prior to the start of the course: 100% refund or credit

Within 2 weeks of the start of the course: credit to use for another course hosted on LAC
